Andreas Maislinger is a prominent historian and the founder of the Austrian Holocaust Memorial Service (Gedenkdienst).

Co-founded the Austrian Holocaust Memorial Service (AHMS) with Andreas Hörtnagl Lobbied the Austrian Parliament for Gedenkdienst service to be recognized as an altenative to conscripition

Served as the scientific director of the annual Braunau Contemporary History Days in Braunau am Inn
